Keep Your Documents Valid

If you are applying for a permit it is your responsibility to have:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Valid vehicle registration

  • Proof of insurance

If any of these items become invalid, you are required to notify Campus Safety & Security. Failure to do so shall result in immediate revocation of parking privileges without a refund.

Failure to have a university parking permit can result in the vehicle receiving citations and towing enforcement at the owner’s expense.

If your vehicle is towed, contact Campus Safety & Security for instructions.

Transferring Permits

Permits are not transferable and are valid only for the registered vehicle. If you change vehicles for any reason, you are required to notify Campus Safety & Security immediately or be subject to towing and fines.

We strongly advise all students to remember that parking is on a first come, first serve basis.

Once all available university parking is occupied, there are additional parking opportunities in the area that can be utilized.

Parking venues not owned or operated by Johnson & Wales University and parking agreements at their locations are solely between the operator and the vehicle owner.

Permits are valid for the lot and area specified only.

Vehicles parked on campus must be in a marked space.

Vehicles parked in flagrant violation of parking rules (i.e. blocking fire lanes) will be towed without notice at the owner's expense.

Automobiles that are parked on university property are subject to the following regulations:

  • All vehicles parked on campus must have a permit.
  • Failure to have a permit can and will subject you to tagging or towing of your vehicle at your expense.
  • It is the responsibility of the person applying for the permit to have and maintain a valid driver’s license, registration & insurance.
  • Permits are valid for the vehicle they are issued for only and are valid for the period indicated on the permit.
  • Parking permits are non-refundable; they are transferable to an alternate vehicle of the original owner only upon sanction of Campus Safety & Security.
  • Vehicles must be parked properly within a designated space so as not to interfere with another parking space or to obstruct a lane of travel.
  • Vehicles parked in flagrant violations such as parking in a fire lane, parking in a travel lane, blocking another person, et cetera, will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Maximum speed limit on university property is 5 mph.
  • Vehicles are subject to search for cause upon request.
  • The decision to tag and/or tow any vehicle in violation is made by the officer on the scene.
  • Failure to comply with these rules or operating your vehicle without a reasonable amount of care may result in revocation of parking privileges and additional disciplinary action.
